Y6 Curriculum
Welcome to Y6’s class page!
The Year 6 team are excited to continue the year for the final Summer term. This term, your teachers will be Miss Revill and Mrs Lillie, supported by our dedicated learning assistants, Mrs Jones, Mrs Billingsley and Mrs Lendrum.
In Science, we will be learning about light, electricity, evolution and adapatation and living things, developing our understanding through a range of engaging investigations. In Computing, we will be learning how to create and use Excel spreadsheets. Our Geography lessons will take us to Antarctica and the Arctic, where we will explore these unique environments and the challenges they present. In History, we will be learning about World War 2 and its impact on Britain and the wider world.
We are especially excited to be preparing an amazing end of year musical with Year 5. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the children to perform, showcase their talents and celebrate their time in primary school before moving on to secondary school. Alongside our main topics, we will continue to learn in PE, French, RE and PSHE on a weekly basis.

The Arabian Nights stories
Things to remember:
- Y6 will receive weekly, Friday homework to complete over the weekend and return on the following Monday. This will focus on knowledge or skills taught that week so the children have more opportunity to practise.
-
PE lessons are on Thursdays and Fridays so children need to come in their PE kit on those days. Please ensure your child wears suitable clothing (not jeans or boots). PE kits include a white T-shirt and black/blue joggers/leggings/shorts with trainers/pumps.
