Design & Technology at Broom Valley
We want our children to love designing and understand that there are no limits to their ambitions: they might grow up to be carpenters, graphic designers or architects. At Broom Valley, we believe that having a purpose for designing is essential and that is why our whole-school Design Technology project builds up to a Winter Wonderland market in which children sell the products that they have made to raise money for school.
Y1 had to collaborate to solve a problem. How can we make the snowman's hat move on our cards?
KS2 held their 'Winter Wonderland', to sell the products made during their Design and Technology learning this half term. We were so happy to see so many families arriving to explore, discuss and buy our products. We raised a fabulous £384.27!
Y3 have worked incredibly hard making their toy cars. The process was challenging but every child succeeded in making a product which adhered to the market research. Well done Y3!
Our wonderful Y5 have been baking their own treats for our DT project. By applying the vast array of skills they have learned, our children have created their own version of the seasonal favourite, cinnamon swirl.
Y6 have worked so hard creating these amazing picture frames for the 2023 Winter Wonderland! We hope to see you all there!
It was so nice to see the playground filled with happy parents and proud children at the Winter Wonderland. What the children produced was fantastic and it was wonderful to share all their hard work, with our community.
