Music at Broom Valley
At Broom Valley, we follow the National Curriculum through the Charanga Music Programme, with additional opportunities for music appraisal and exploration in assemblies. In addition, each week, children participate in whole-school singing assemblies where they develop a range of voice and performance skills. Over the year, children will explore a broad and diverse range of songs and compositions. Children will also have the opportunity to learn to play the recorder, glockenspiel and ukulele during their time at Broom Valley.
In our Year 6 music lesson, Mr Harding showed us his euphonium and we even got to have a go at playing it!
KS2 Sparkle and Shine - and shine they did! Our KS2 children ended our week of wonderful events with a fabulous singing performance and Y6 shared 'Twas the Night Before Christmas!'. We were once again thrilled to have so many families there to share it with us.
Y5 used the djembe drums to improvise and compose music. We really enjoyed playing these fascinating instruments and had a lot of fun improvising to the music.
What a day! Team BVCS were incredible at Young Voices. They represented our school so well and sung beautifully in a choir of over 5000 children. We can’t wait for Young Voices 2027!
Y3 love learning to play the Ukulele every week with Mrs Dyson. The children are working hard to learn the G7 and F major chords.
