Y5 Curriculum
Welcome to Y5’s class pages!
Autumn term:
Our Year 5 team are so excited to start the year and welcome our children back into school. Our Year 5 teachers are: Mr Butt and Mr Wilson.
Year 5 will be exploring the concept of equality within diversity by reading the book, 'Wonder by R.J.Palacio,' and analysing its gripping concepts. The story has inspired a study into diary entries where we will be expressing our emotions and practising informal, personal writing. Our key driver subject is art, where we will explore portrait sketching, which will evolve into painting and clay sculpture. In our non-intensive teaching, we will revisit previously taught learning on geography, history, music, RE and DT. We will be sending home knowledge organisers for each subject, which can be used at home. Things to remember:
- Please ensure your child brings their book bag with them every day.
- PE is on Monday - children need to come in their PE kit. Please ensure your child wears suitable clothing (not jeans or boots). PE kit is a white T-shirt and blue/black joggers/leggings/shorts with trainers or pumps.
