Y6 Curriculum
Welcome to Y6’s class pages!
The Year 6 team are excited to welcome the pupils back for the third term of the year! Your teachers this term are Mrs Lillie and Miss Revill, and the learning assistants supporting you are Mrs Jones and Mrs Gulfraz. Our main focus in history will be World War II, where we will explore key events, figures, and the impact it had globally. Alongside this, we will continue to develop our skills in French, PE, Computing, RE, and PSHE, which will be taught weekly. In Science, we will delve into two fascinating units: Evolution and Adaptation and Living Things and Their Habitats. And, of course, we are all looking forward to putting on our school musical: Aladdin—a wonderful way to bring creativity and performance into our school life this term!
#Rotherhamlovesreading
Our core text for writing is:
- Shackleton's Journey by William Gill
Our Reading for Pleasure text is:
- Evernight by Ross MacKenzie
Things to remember:
- Y6 will receive weekly, Friday homework to complete over the weekend and return on the following Monday. This will focus on knowledge or skills taught that week so the children have more opportunity to practise.
- PE lessons are on Tuesdays and Thursdays so children need to come in their PE kit on those days. Please ensure your child wears suitable clothing (not jeans or boots). PE kits include a white T-shirt and black/blue joggers/leggings/shorts with trainers/pumps.
